Registration
You will be accepted as a member of the "Alumni Network" for alumni of the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg-Weiden (OTH AW). Registration is voluntary and free of charge. When you register for the first time, you will be presented with the terms of use for the alumni portal (online platform). Please read these carefully. By completing the registration process, you agree to the terms of use. You can revoke your registration at any time and your profile will then be deleted.
Management of your user data
Within the alumni portal, you have the option of managing your data yourself and sharing it with other users or hiding it. When you register, you can choose which of your data you would like to make visible in the portal. Only the basic information "First name, surname, reference to OTH AW" is always visible to other users. You can also decide at any time whether you wish to receive information from OTH AW.
Use of your data
- Dispatch of information, usually concerning events, further education offers and news from OTH AW (e.g. OTHmag).
- Bringing together former fellow students. However, members' data will only be passed on with their explicit consent.
- Establishing contact between OTH AW and alumni, e.g. in connection with a personal commitment, for example as speakers at events or as interview partners.
Access to the OTH AW Community
Access to the portal is only possible with a personal user name and password via the Internet. The connection is made via SSL encryption. The server is also protected by a firewall.
Transfer of your data
During transmission to the OTH AW server, your data is secured using SSL (Secure Socket Layer). This is an encryption method that is also commonly used, for example, to transmit credit card numbers in electronic business transactions.
Processing and storage of your data
The personal data you provide will be stored in the electronic database of OTH AW and processed exclusively within the scope of the consent you have given and will not be passed on to third parties. The alumni portal is operated on protected servers of the OTH AW computer center directly at the university.
Revocation and deletion of your data
You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future. After receipt of the revocation by the Alumni Management of the OTH AW (alumni
@oth-aw.de) your data will be deleted.
By registering on the portal, you agree to the storage and use of your data for a specific purpose under the conditions listed above.
